Avi Hormaro

Director
The Jordache Group

The Jordache Group, owned by the Nakash brothers, Joe, Avi and Rafi, is a holding group active in retail, hospitality, real estate, aviation, industry and agriculture.

The brothers, who were born in Tel Aviv in the 1940s, grew up in a poor family, but fully inspired by their late mother Miriam, who immersed herself in her children.

To this day, the brothers remember the Amcor refrigerator, which their mother bought in the 1960s. To fulfill her dream, the late Miriam had to invest heavily from her own money and from the savings of her oldest son – and decades later, when the Jordache group joined as partners in the Ampa group, the brothers closed a circle for their mother.

After their military service, the brothers moved to the United States and opened a jeans store. Over time, they expanded their fashion business and entered additional areas: real estate, aviation, hospitality and more. Even across the sea, the Nakash brothers remained enthusiastic Zionists, and today much of their money is invested in Israel.

The group is represented by Avi Hormaro, who has been CEO of the Jordache Group in Israel for more than a decade and leads all business operations in Israel.

As of 2005, the Jordache Israel Group is a partner in Ampa Group, and Avi Hormaro serves as Deputy Chairman of the Group.

My First Job

My first job, in my youth was very attractive, at an amusement park.

Ampa's innovation

Ampa is a pioneer in real estate innovation. This is reflected in our ability to develop new

To succeed, you have to think outside the box – and we at Ampa love to be open-minded, think outside the box, make quick decisions, and bring innovation to our areas of interest. This can be reflected in any area, for example: bringing new equipment to an industrial plant to reduce costs and streamline. Innovation is an integral part of our business, and is always part of our consideration.

and businesses, such as the Selina and WeWork or the energy sector; the ability to integrate new technologies and business models; and importantly – the ability to see what contributes to our country. We in Ampa believe that innovation is a must and not a luxury: a company that will not know how to optimize and innovate will not be able to move forward and succeed.

My favorite project in Ampa

To me, the Electra Tower is one of our most beautiful projects in the group. It is our flagship project, and it was an important milestone in our development.

Ampa's greatest achievement

Ampa’s greatest achievement is in its human capital. The human component is vital to the success of any company, and here at Ampa one can see a strong connection between the partners and management echelons – which has contributed and still contributes significantly to the company’s development. Coming to work every day for fun – this is a significant achievement.

Another achievement is the success of the ‘social experiment’ that we have made: we have assembled, some friends, for the benefit of the business, we have become partners – and we have not only succeeded in generating value from this collaborative work, but also in staying friends. To make such a big change in an organization, one has to work with people and contribute to each other – and we, to my delight, have succeeded.

Something that no one knows about me.

Everybody knows everything about me.
